Leaving Budapest

I sip a beer in a basement bar
I don't feel like I'm getting too far
There comes a time when you have to find a home
I've been here for a year or two
Today's old was yesterday's new
The problems that I solved have been replaced

Nothing lasts as long as it should
I'm getting tired of the neighbourhood
I'm getting tired of the neighbourhood

The streetlights make the river shine
I sometimes think that the city's mine
I sometimes think that the city's just a dream
Late nights don't clear the mind
Daylight streams through the open blinds
And how on Earth did I ever wake up here?

Nothing lasts as long as it should
I'm getting out of here for good
I'm getting out of the neighbourhood

I'm running low on whatever got me here.
I just hope I've got enough for another beer,

What's next Andy-boy, where are you going to go?
Without any money in your hand now
What's next Andy-boy, where are you going to go?
Where are you gonna go, without any money in your hand?

I left my books on a friend's bookshelf
I've given up my flat
I'm saying goodbye to all of my friends
And it won't take long to do that.

I won't see these old trams anymore
And the trains where the doors don't shut
Tom Petty, Willy Nelson and me are getting on a bus
Two bags, one guitar and me are getting on a bus
